Darling BAR CART REfurbish REveal!

Spring is right around the corner...

Which means bright colors, fresh patterns, and....

COCKTAILS,  right?!?

So, in an attempt to get into the swing of Spring...I decided to REfurbish an old, dilapidated bar cart I scored from The Green Shag, a local, quirky antique stop.  I loved that it had two levels, it rolled, and had the bamboo accent (which is very "in") on the body of the cart.  After a little haggling, it was mine...for a great price.

As you can see, the "brass" finish was well worn and needed a little love.

I brought it home, took off the plexiglass shelving, and roughed it up with a piece of medium grit sandpaper.  Next, I used a primer that would help the high gloss spray paint adhere to the cart.  I will say this particular primer left a sort of sandy finish..so I had to spend a bit more time sanding those bumps away with a smooth grit sandpaper.  It was a bit of an unexpected pain, but it was well worth the minimal elbow grease.

It took three coats of bright YELLOW high gloss Krylon spray paint..and VOILA!

On to the bar cart's shelves...I got this "window film" at Home Depot.  I've used it before, and it is fairly easy to use.  (BUT, you need TWO PEOPLE to be really effective at getting a good, smooth application!)

TA DA!  No cocktails on this cart, but these bright accessories are darn cute!

Seven Gray is using it to display some of the new Spring items that have been rolling...think patterned pillows, funky art, a Curly Girl cake stand, bright Easter Eggs, metallic Easter Bunnies, colorful lanterns, infinity scarves, numbered pails, door mats, turquoise bottles, and much more.

For the right price, the bar cart could be yours...go check it out at  7 Gray in historical, downtown Webster Groves!!!

It'll help you kick off your SPRING FEVER...and just think of the cocktails you can serve off this REfurbished Baby!
